Illegal Muslim Migration from Bangladesh and its Consequences PDF Print E-mail

“In a major setback to the UPA government at the Centre, the Apex Court on Tuesday quashed its notification that put the onus of proving an llegal immigrant into the country solely on the complainant. An SC bench directed the Union government to constitute within four months sufficient number of tribunals to detect infiltration of thousands of Bangladeshis into Assam”. Business Standard December 6, 2006.

To read the 5/12/2006 SC order - http://www.esamskriti.com. In July 2005 the Apex Court had repealed the IMDT Act, 1983.

Has the Govt set up Tribunals as directed by the SC or has SC passed any order after that.
